Man With Knife Barricades Himself In Philly Basement
Philadelphia Police responded to a man barricaded inside a basement, authorities said. The person had a weapon on the 4100 block of Devereaux Street (private rowhome) at 10:49 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, they said. A 44-year-old Hispanic male locked himself inside the basement of this property, police said. The male is possibly armed with a knife. It was declared a barricade at 12:24 p.m.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office has identified the officers involved in the shooting of a wanted Pennsylvania fugitive during a barricade situation at a Maryland motel over the weekend. New details have been released after a man wanted for sexually abusing a child in Pennsylvania was injured and had to be airlifted to the hospital following an officer-involved shooting at a Frederick County motel on Friday morning. A reported hazardous materials incident cleared multiple city blocks in South Philadelphia on Friday, July 19, according to authorities. A possible neighbor dispute and a strong smell of bleach and ammonia were reported on the 1200 block of South 22nd Street around 11:15 a.m., city police said. All residents on the 1200 block of South 22nd Street, the 2200 block of Oakford Street, and the 2200 block of Latona Street were evacuated, according to PPD. The Saturday shooting that left a Philadelphia policeman in critical condition ended in a home invasion and barricade, city officials said at a Monday morning press conference.
