The body of a driver whose tractor-trailer plunged into the Delaware River after a crash on the Delaware Memorial Bridge early Friday, July 11 was recovered Saturday morning, July 12, officials confirmed. In an update Saturday, Delaware River and Bay Authority spokesman James Salmon said that the Bobtail tractor and a deceased male occupant were recovered from the Delaware River at approximately 11:10 a.m. The driver's identity has not yet been released. A 54-year-old Pennsylvania man died after his kayak capsized on the Delaware River, with his body recovered on the New Jersey side, according to the National Park Service. Coroner IDs Body Found In Delaware River
Officials have identified the body found in the Delaware River last month as a 36-year-old Pennsylvania man. Authorities had initially asked the public for help in identifying the man using his tattoos, after his body was discovered in Upper Mount Bethel Township on May 25, as previously reported by Daily Voice. According to Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek, the man is James William Marello, whose last known addresses are in Pottsville and Mount Carmel. For at least the second time this month, a man has died while tubing in the Lehigh Valley, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. This time it was a father of seven children, a family friend told Daily Voice. Antwan D. Daring, 35, of Bethlehem, drowned in the Lehigh River near Waterfront Drive in Allentown on Monday afternoon, July 15, officials said.
