Youshimatz Alegria Diaz, 32, of Coatesville, was pulled over on Saturday, March 22, 2025, on Route 30 East in Manheim Township after police say he failed to use his blinker before changing lanes.

That stop quickly turned into much more.

The officer identified Diaz using a Mexican driver’s license, and Diaz admitted he had been in the U.S. for two years without a valid Pennsylvania license, according to police.

A routine records check revealed Diaz had an active Interpol warrant for homicide — turning a basic traffic stop into an international arrest.

ICE was contacted and confirmed they would issue a detainer, police said. Diaz was taken into custody and booked into Lancaster County Prison. As of press time, Alegria Diaz was in ICE custody, records show.

A criminal complaint was filed on March 23. He’s been charged with fugitive from justice, authorities said.
