Man Hurls Explosive Into Store, Tries To Steal Occupied Car In Chaotic Rampage: PA State Police

A Pennsylvania man launched an explosive inside a Chester County convenience store, igniting a fire before attempting to carjack a driver in a desperate escape, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Augustin Cisneros-Bedolla is accused of unleashing the violent attack at Squire’s Pantry on Gap Newport Pike in London Grove Township at 7:38 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, according to PSP Avondale.

Investigators say Cisneros-Bedolla stormed into the store, threw an incendiary device at two employees, and set the building ablaze. As the flames spread, chaos erupted. The suspect then ran outside and attempted to hijack a car—while it was still occupied—before vanishing into the night.

Emergency crews rushed to contain the fire as police launched a manhunt. By Sunday, March 2, troopers had identified and arrested Cisneros-Bedolla, authorities said.

He is now facing a slew of serious charges, including:

  • Attempted Homicide
  • Aggravated Arson
  • Attempted Robbery of a Motor Vehicle
  • Attempted Kidnapping
  • Possessing Explosives
  • Unlawful Possession and Manufacturing of Weapons of Mass Destruction

Cisneros-Bedolla was arraigned and taken to Chester County Prison.

Firefighters from West Grove, Avondale, Kennett, Longwood, Cochranville, and Medic 94 battled the blaze. Miraculously, no serious injuries were reported.
