A 2-year-old Pottstown boy accidentally shot himself with his father's loaded firearm, leading to felony child and reckless endangerment charges for the father, authorities said. Three Philadelphia men were arrested as they were stealing 1,600 pounds of beef from a locked trailer in the city, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. Douglas Mathis, 36; Jamir Scott, 25; and Tariq Duncan, 31, were seen Tuesday, September 24, 2024, wearing dark clothing and masks while breaking a lock on a trailer in the 7300 block of Edmund Street, the Attorney General's Office said. Camper Overturns On I-81 In Lebanon: PennDOT
An overturned camper closed a portion of Interstate 81 on Wednesday, Sept. 25, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials told Daily Voice. The camper flipped over on I-81 South at mile marker 84 in East Hanover Township around 11:30 a.m. The interstate closed for the towing between Exit 85: PA 934 - Annville/ Fort Indiantown Gap and Exit 80: PA 743 - Grantville/Hershey. No injuries were reported. The crash appeared to have cleared just before 1 p.m. but there are some residual delays according to the traffic cameras on 511PA.

David "Davey" Newell Jr., 42, of Orrstown was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Sunday, Sept. 1, according to PSP. The crash happened on Orrstown Road near Blind Lane in Southampton Township at 10:52 p.m., state police detailed in the release. A crash on Interstate 81 is causing delays in Central Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice. An empty tractor-trailer rolled over on I-81 at Exit 72A: Paxtonia/Linglestown in Lower Paxton Township at 6:36 p.m., according to Schreffler and PennDOT's 511PA.
