PA Driver Charged In Pursuit That Left Motorcyclist Dead In NJ A 32-year-old Pennsylvania man has been charged after a police pursuit led to the death of a motorcyclist, a Vietnam War veteran, in Warren County on Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said. At 10:19 a.m., a New Jersey State  Trooper began following an SUV on Route 80 eastbound and initiated a traffic stop, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said.  The driver of the SUV, Sean Mamakas, a Kempton, PA resident, continued traveling eastbound, exiting the interstate at Exit 12 and headed toward County Road 521 southbound in Hope Township, authorities said. PA State Police Car Catches Fire On Route 80 A PSP vehicle caught fire on a Luzerne County highway late Monday, July 15, according to officials.  The blaze happened on Route 80 near mile marker 272.1, said White Haven Fire Company. Troopers brought the flames under control by the time firefighters arrived, and a hose was used to soak down the engine compartment, authorities said.  No one was injured, the fire company added.  Daily Voice has reached out to PSP for details on what caused the fire.

Box Truck Flips On Side During Route 80 Crash: Officials (Photos) A Route 80 driver was trapped when their box truck flipped on Wednesday morning, July 17, according to first responders.  The crash happened in the westbound lanes of Rt 80 near mile marker 259.1 around 9:30 a.m., Hazle Township Fire and Rescue Company detailed in the release. The box truck hit the back of a construction-blocking vehicle and then flipped onto its side, pinning the driver, officials said.  Facebook/Hazle Twp. Fire and Rescue Co.
