Hazmat Spill Shutters West Chocolate Avenue In Hershey A crash caused a tank of liquid fertilizer to rupture, shutting down westbound lanes of West Chocolate Avenue in Derry Township, police announced on Friday, Sept. 12. The closure impacts State Route 0422 westbound between Park Avenue (SR 0743) and Ridge Road, according to a Crimewatch release issued at 12:22 p.m. Officials said the westbound lanes are hazardous to traffic following the spill. Crews have been summoned to clean up the fertilizer. Eastbound traffic on Chocolate Avenue past the scene remains open.
