Man Stole Phone, Had Cocaine: Lakewood PD A 33-year-old Freehold man was arrested and charged after he stole a cell phone in Lakewood, authorities announced. Nicholas Shapiro was arrested on Friday, May 29 after stealing the phone from a store in Lakewood, Lakewood police said. He was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant with assistance from the Tinton Falls Police Department, police said. During the intake process at the Ocean County Jail, corrections officers recovered a quantity of suspected cocaine from Shapiro's possession, police said. As a result, additional narcotics charges were filed, police said.
