Philadelphia police are urgently seeking the public's help to find two teenage girls who vanished in separate incidents last week.
Byata Jahmeela Matthews, 16, was last seen on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. near the 2500 block of North 28th Street, authorities said. Byata is described as 5’1”, 138 pounds, with brown eyes and black, shoulder-length straight hair. She was last seen wearing a pink and white jacket with black pants and is known to frequent the area of 20th and Susquehanna Avenue.

A 32-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the head and face inside the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center (PICC) on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., according to Philadelphia police.
The man was rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Police said no weapon was recovered, and the scene was not held, though an arrest has been made.
