Masked Burglars Tried To Enter Montco Home, Authorities Say Three men attempted to burglarize a Lower Moreland residence in broad daylight last month, township police said in a release on Wednesday, July 31.  One suspect broke a fence lock and forced his way into the backyard of a home near Pine and Byberry roads on July 5, according to investigators. The second suspect, who was wearing a surgical mask and a hat, knocked on the front door of the home.  The trio tried to get inside through a sliding glass door at the rear of the house but fled when they saw someone inside, police added. Driver Nearly Crashed Into Police Car Before Montco Pursuit: Authorities A car chase in Lower Moreland ended in one man's arrest, according to township police.  Officers were traveling on Philmont Avenue early on June 10 when they spotted an oncoming driver pass a car on its left side, veering into the center median and opposite lane, police said.  The officers had to swerve to the curb to avoid colliding with the driver, authorities said.  They activated their lights and the driver fled before eventually being taken into custody, township police said. Roadwork To Begin In Lower Moreland, Peco Says Lower Moreland drivers are advised of upcoming roadwork to begin on July 1.  PECO will be installing new underground gas pipes on Warminster Road, a project that's expected to wrap sometime in October, the utility company says.
