A Maryland native and Greencastle local was killed in a crash on Interstate 81, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Thursday, Oct. 31.
Adam Emerick, 33, of Greencastle, was found dead at the scene of a crash near mile marker 0.8 of I-81 North, near the Maryland/Pennsylvania border, around 2:33 a.m., according to PA State Police.

A warrant has been issued for a suspected arsonist, Waynesboro police announced on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Maxwell D. Alexander, 22, of Greencastle, has been charged with five counts of arson and related offenses and three counts of criminal mischief after an incident on Old Mill Road at 2:15 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023, police detailed in the release.
He is currently serving 24 months of probation for a criminal mischief charge for an incident in Waynesboro that same day, according to a previous court docket. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023.

Christopher Van Johnson, 36 of Baltimore, MD was sentenced to seven consecutive life in prison sentences by United States District Court Judge Christopher C. A 59-year-old man was struck dead walking to his mailbox on Friday, according to a release by the Pennsylvania State Police on Monday, July 1.
Troy A. Truax of Waynesboro was in the area of 8556 Hades Church Road, Antrim Township when he was struck by a 2015 Ford driven by Thomas M. Michalsky, 25, of Greencastle, PSP Chambersburg Trooper Antoniette Cross detailed in the release.

Raymond Garfield Campbell made it across the country but is back in Maryland to face charges for the 2020 murder of a Pennsylvania man in Washington County, police say.
Campbell, 36, was arrested in California and returned back to the East Coast to face charges for his alleged role in the fatal October 2020 shooting of Waynesboro resident Daynard Devere Johnson, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.
