Girl Scout Dues Hit Historic High: PA Council Says Membership fees or dues to join Girl Scouts have risen to a historic high, Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania announced on Tuesday, Oct. 22.  The decision to raise the dues is not just local, but came as a result of "12 hours of thoughtful deliberation, the national delegates of Girl Scouts, representing councils across the country, including representatives from Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania," GSHPA wrote.  The increase will go into effect in the next membership year.  The membership dues for girls will increase from $25.00 to $45.00 for the membership year 2026 and to $6…

Vince Mazzotta, 62, Lifetime Darby Fire Company Member Dies A Pennsylvania fire department is mourning the loss of one of their own. Vincent "Vince" John Mazzotta, a life member of the Darby Fire Co., died on Sunday, July 28. He was 62 years old.  The volunteer fireman, of Newtown Square, graduated from the Monsignor Bonner High School (Class of 1980) and King’s College in Wilkes-Barre (Class of 1984), his obituary on the Danjolell Memorial Home website says. 'Pillar Of The Community' Mourned By Police In York County A volunteer with the Newberry Township police has died. The passing of Carole Gosnell Canonico, 75, of Goldsboro, was announced by the NTPD on Monday. Canonico was described as a pillar of the community who "dedicated over 15 years to volunteering at NTPD and in that time assisted with clerical work, special events, holiday decorating and most importantly, her support of our officers."
