Norfolk Southern Train; Landis Sensenig Newswanger Obituary A 15-months and 14-days-old boy has been identified after being struck by a Norfolk Southen Train on Thursday. Landis Sensenig Newswanger was hit by a Norfolk Southern train running along the tracks in his backyard in the 400 block of West Main Street, South Newton Township, Cumberland County at 10:04 a.m. on Dec. 7, according to state police and later identified in his obituary.   Landis was taken to Carlisle Hospital where they were pronounced dead, Cumberland County Coroner Charles Hall told Daily Voice.  His autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 12, Hall said. …

Motorcycle Crash Along I-81 Slows Traffic In Central PA: Dispatch A motorcycle crash has slowed traffic for eight exits along Interstate 81 in central Pennsylvania around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, according to emergency dispatchers. The crash happened in the northbound lanes near mile marker 31.9 in South Newton Township but it reportedly affected traffic from exits 29 to 37, according to a Cumberland County Emergency Management supervisor. The number of persons or vehicles involved is not immediately clear  No airlift services or coroner were called to the scene, the supervisor told Daily Voice.
