Motorcyclist ID'd Following Fatal Crash: PA State Police David "Davey" Newell Jr., 42, of Orrstown was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Sunday, Sept. 1, according to PSP.  The crash happened on Orrstown Road near Blind Lane in Southampton Township at 10:52 p.m., state police detailed in the release. Newell was riding "at a high rate of speed" around a curve when he left his lane, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck the guide rail, the police said.  That's when Newell fell off of his bike and struck the guide rail post as his motorcycle rode off into a nearby field, police explained.   Davey was a Chambersburg n…

Hard Brake Propels Shippensburg Motorcyclist Into Jeep In Chambersburg: PSP A 30-year-old man is dead following a serious motorcycle crash in Chambersburg on Tuesday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.  Nathan Stepler was riding his 2002 Kawasaki 600 motorcycle on Lurgan Road — when he slammed on his breaks in an attempt to avoid crashing into Ralph Baylor, 72, of Newburg's 2021 Jeep as it turned left onto the road from Roxbury Road, state police explained.  Unfortunately, Nathan became airborne and his body struck the side of the Jeep around 6:11 a.m. on Sept. 12, troopers detailed.  Baylor was wearing his seatbelt and was unharmed.
