Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Much Of NJ, PA: Here's The Timing The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania. The watch is in effect through 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 and applies to all of New Jersey. In Pennsylvania, the watch covers Adams, Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Dauphin, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, Pike, Schuylkill, Wayne, Wyoming, and York in Pennsylvania. High Winds Leave Thousands Without Power In Central PA Almost 4,000 PPL customers are without power in Central Pennsylvania following a windy weekend.  As of 10 a.m. on Monday, April 15, the majority of outages were approximately as follows, according to the outage map: Lockhaven 900. Bloomsburg 704. Selinsgrove 658. Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Much Of Region With a round of storms moving from west to east in interior portions of the region, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for much of the area The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 across DC, MD, NJ, PA, and VA. Potentially dangerous straight-line wind gusts are the primary threat, with potentially damaging hail also possible, according to the National Weather Service. Localized heavy rainfall and lightning are also possible.
