Equipment rolled off a trailer at an ramp entering Route 222 ramp in Lancaster County on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 29, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation' 511PA traffic cameras. The equipment flipped over at the ramp to Route 222 South from Route 322 in Ephrata Township around 12 p.m., as shown on 511PA. The ramp closure is causing delays on Route 322. After eight drivers got flat tires driving over sinkholes on Route 222, repairs are underway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and a local fire company announced on Monday, Aug. 5. A woman was left with bruises on her face and arms after a convict accosted her vehicle on Route 222 and robbed her, West Earl Township Police announced in a release on Tuesday, June, 11. Michael Eugene Ermold Jr., 57 of Lancaster (who is reportedly experiencing homelessness), is accused of attacking a woman near mile marked 36.8 shortly before 7 p.m. on June 4, the police detailed in a release. A 60-year-old man from Ephrata died at the scene of a rollover crash along Route 222 on Saturday July 9, authorities say. A deputy Lancaster County coroner came to the crash in West Earl Township at 2 p.m., according to a release by the county's forensic center. Edwin Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene. Hayes will be examined at the center to determine the cause and manner of his death. Major traffic disruptions are to be expected in Lehigh County Wednesday due to a visit by President Joe Biden, officials said.
