Escaped PA Prisoner Nabbed By US Marshals Agents
Members of the US Marshal Service and local police in New York arrested an escaped Pennsylvania prisoner who had been granted a furlough to attend a funeral. Jason “Critter” Lajoie, age 45, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 27, said Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police in Sullivan County. He had escaped from a transport vehicle on I-84 in Pike County, Pennsylvania on Oct. 24. According to Johnstone, Lajoie was being held in federal custody on weapons and drug offenses. ICE Ends Contract With Central PA Prison
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has ended its contract with York County prison. After 30 years ICE has decided to terminate it's agreement with the York County Prison to house undocumented immigrants. York County prison has had a rise in inmate deaths, as well as COVID-19 being a factor-- with over 200 inmates testing positive. The exact reason for the termination of the contract is unknown. Bucks County Teen Dies In Post Prom Crash
A Central Bucks High School East student died in a crash that occurred in the hours following the school's senior prom Saturday, authorities said. Nicholas Mannino, 18, of Pipersville, was riding in a car that lost control and overturned then struck several trees on a rural Pike County road around 1:20 a.m., the Bucks Courrier Times reports. Mannino was rushed to Geisinger Medical Center in Scranton, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 4 a.m., the outlet said citing Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland. Pennsylvania State Police were investigating.
