A registered sex offender — who only abused children — secretly ran a carnival business in Pennsylvania and state police fear he may have new victims according to a release on Feb. 8. Richard Lee Ridley was convicted of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child in 1993 and 2006, as well as open lewdness in 2020 and harassment in 2023, according to the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Sexual Offender Registry and court records. Pennsylvania State Police were called to a report of a fight on a school bus in Mount Holly Springs around 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1. Motorcyclist Dies Following Tractor-Trailer Crash: Cumberland Co. Coroner
A motorcyclist died at the hospital following a collision with a tractor-trailer on Tuesday, according to the Cumberland County Coroner's office. Leonard G. Mortorff, 74, of Mount Holly Springs was taken to Carlisle Hospital following the crash at the intersection of Baltimore Pike/PA Route 34 and Yates Street on July 11, 2023, Coroner Charles Hall said. It is unknown if the tractor-trailer driver sustained any injuries. This deadly crash remains under investigation by the Mount Holly Boro Police Department.

A high school in central Pennsylvania was briefly evacuated due to a fire on Monday, May 16, authorities say. The fire happened inside Boiling Springs High School located at 21 Academy Street around 12:30 p.m., according to Cumberland County Wide Communications dispatch supervisor.
