Charged Child Rapist Kidnaps Girl Then Kills Himself During PA Police Pursuit
A man out on bail for felony child rape kidnapped a girl at gunpoint but when police closed in, he turned the gun on himself, the Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday afternoon. Former convict, James Lee Kopp Jr., 53 of Hanover and East Berlin (although most recently from McSherrystown) kidnapped a 12-year-old girl at gunpoint from her yard in the 600 block of North Street in McSherrystown and fled the area, PSP detailed. The woman who died at the scene of a three-vehicle crash on Saturday, June 25 has been identified by the York County coroner's office. Paulette K. (McIlwee) Dubbs, 75, of McSherrystown, supposedly drove her Kia Soul across four lanes of traffic— striking two vehicles— in the 200 block of Eisenhower Drive in Hanover, just before noon, according to the release by the coroner's office.
