A 16-year-old boy has been charged in the shooting death of a 12-year-old in Chambersburg in December 2024, according to a police release on Thursday, Jan. 16. Chambersburg Police announced that the teen was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and recklessly endangering another person after a December 12 incident on the 200 block of Birch Street. A middle school student was arrested following an incident at his school, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police on Monday, Oct. 17. The state police were called to Bermudian Springs Middle School to investigate an incident of harassment on Oct. 4 at 1:54 p.m., as detailed in the release. During the investigation, police learned that a 12-year-old boy had struck a fellow student, a 12-year-old girl. A child has been charged and arrested for making shooting and bombing threats at a middle school on three separate occasions, according to the police. Shippensburg police first began looking into the child's actions when they threatened to shoot students at the Shippensburg Area Middle School on Jan. 11, police say. The same child made bomb threats against the school on Mar. 8 and again on 10 of this year, the release shows. A 16-year-old boy is being charged as an adult after allegedly committing a second armed robbery in less than 10 months, according to court documents. Zakai Anderson, 16 of Harrisburg, was most recently arrested after forcing his way into a victim's home on the 100 block of South Lockwillow Avenue and tried robbing them at gunpoint around 2:45 p.m. on April 25, township police said.
