A former high school triple threat athlete was found dead in Harrisburg according to his family and the Dauphin County Coroner's Office confirmed to Daily Voice on Monday, Sept. 2.
Michael "Mike" Ford, 58, of Harrisburg, was found in 100 block of South 4th Street in Harrisburg behind the Alva Hotel & Restaurant, on Saturday, Aug. 31, according to the coroner.
"No autopsy will be done since there were no evident injuries and there were indications of substance use," the coroner said. "The cause of death is pending toxicology results."

Two people who were found dead inside a home in Lancaster County on Wednesday, August 7 have been revealed to be a murder-suicide the coroner announced on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 8.
Ann M. Sellers, 47, and Kyle D. Heagy, 32, were found inside a home in the 2800 block of Lincoln Highway East, Ronks at approximately 7:08 a.m. by East Lampeter Township police, as detailed in the release.

A woman described as "kind and funny" was found dead at a motel, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Nov. 13.
Tiffany Kay Judge, 35, of Yardley, Pennsylvania, was found dead in a room at Valley Lodge Motel on Monday, according to a release by the state police.
Troopers from Selinsgrove were called for "a death investigation" at the motel located at 2103 North Susquehanna Trail in Monroe Township, Snyder County, as stated in the release.

Shed Fire Kills Hummelstown Man: Officials
A shed fire left a Hummelstown man on Friday.
Douglas Sweigart, 62, of Hummelstown, East Hanover Township was pronounced dead at the scene of a shed fire at 755 Laudermilch Road, Hummelstown, Dauphin Community Communications Director told Daily Voice.
Crews were dispatched to the fire at 6:32 a.m. Sept. 15, according to Fitch.

Missing Mom Found Dead Off Route 80 In PA
The human remains discovered in a wooded area off of Interstate 80 in Monroe County last week have been identified as belonging to a missing Stroudsburg woman, authorities have confirmed.
Dana Kristine Smithers, who was last seen nearly a year ago, was found near the Park Avenue/I-80 East on-ramp on Friday, April 28, Stroud Area Regional Police wrote in a release.
Smithers, who was 46, was identified via dental records, authorities said. An autopsy was conducted on Monday, May 1, but an official cause and manner of death are pending further testing, SARPD officers wrote.

Donald " Freddy" Harris, 58, of Harrisburg had been missing since July 16, 2022, and his remains were found on the afternoon of Sunday, March 19, 2023, Dauphin County Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Libhart told Daily Voice.
His remains were found in the 1300 block of Crooked Hill Road near the US Postal Service shipping and sorting hub close to Elmerton Road by the Farm Show Complex, Susquehanna Township Police explained at the time.
