Flaming Hot Drive-Thru, Car Catches Fire At KFC On PA Rt 114: Officials
Is KFC now offering flame-grilling or was the chicken just that spicy? The cause of the car fire at a KFC drive-thru on Monday, Aug. 12, was not released when officials made a statement later that day. The car caught fire at the KFC drive-thru window located at 6557 Carlisle Pike/PA Route 114 in Mechanicsburg in the area of Route 11 around 6 p.m. on Monday, according to the New Kingston Fire Company Chief Curtis Hall. Crews used a nearby hydrant to knock down the fire and clear the scene in under 45 minutes. The fire did not spread to the building.

: Wires Fall On Excavator Along Harrisburg Pike, Officials Say
The power was knocked in part of Cumberland after an excavator knocked the wire down on itself, New Kingston Fire Company Chief Curtis Hall announced on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The operator of the excavator was still inside when crews arrived at the scene in the 1100 block of Harrisburg Pike on Tuesday morning, according to Chief Hall. PP&L soon arrived and "determined it was safe for the operator to get out," Hall said. PP&L remained in the area to restore power to those affected. The area where the excavator was working was being used for storage.
