NY Man Causes Back-To-Back Hit-Runs In PA, Police Say
A 21-year-old New York man caused two hit-and-runs in Pennsylvania, police announced on May 10, 2023. Franknness A. Martinez Tavarez of Corona first crashed into a vehicle in the 400 block of Long Lane in Pequea Township around 11 a.m. on May 9— causing injuries, according to area police. While at the scene, the police find another vehicle had been side-swiped, and that driver was unharmed, the police explained. The officer found a head-on collision just 1000 feet down the same road. A new COVID-19 variant first detected in New York in January has now been identified in 27 states, including Pennsylvania. The so-called Arcturus strain — officially known as XBB.1.16 — is believed to be one of the most infectious versions of Omicron to date. Hundreds of thousands of Honda SUVs are being recalled due to concerns that road salt could cause the frame of the vehicle to rust and unintentionally detach parts of the rear suspension.
