Thirty birds, four dogs, one bull, and one pony were removed from a school bus and trailer in Adams County over the weekend, according to the SPCA. Eastern Adams Regional police called SPCA members to Hanover Street and Red Hill Road on Saturday night, the organization said in a release. Police had discovered the animals in the bus and accompanying trailer after arresting the driver on out-of-state warrants, officials said. Twenty-three animals living in “severe neglect” were removed from a Coaldale home on Monday, May 20, state police said in a release. Charges are pending against the 69-year-old homeowner, according to troopers. Bald Eagle Struck On Highway Rescued By Pennsylvania State Police Troopers
Two Pennsylvania State Police Troopers went on a rescue mission for a special bird. Troopers Alex Ebbert and Emilio Rizzo were called to a report of a bald eagle struck on Route 422 in Greenwood Township, Perry County on Sunday around 11 a.m., according to PSP. They arrived to find that the bird suffered from an injured wing after being hit by a car. "Trooper Ebbert used his cruiser jacket to wrap the bird for secure transport," state police stated in a release. A dog trapped in a Lehigh Valley house fire was rescued and revived with Oxygen, authorities said. The Palmer Municipal Fire Department responded to the blaze on Swanson Street and found the dog in the back of the home on Saturday, April 30, the company said. Firefighters worked alongside Suburban Medics to bring the unresponsive dog outside and put her on Oxygen using a mask designed for animal use. : Fire Tears Through Adams County Barn
A fire ripped through a barn in Adams County bringing several different fire companies to the scene Saturday. The owners were able to get all of the animals out when crews began arriving to the 90x90-foot barn on the 200 block of Hershey Heights in Berwick Township around 12:30 p.m. Firefighters worked in 90-degree heat to control the 2-alarm blaze.
