Trooper Among 3 Seriously Hurt After Driver Fails To Yield On Route 283: PA State Police Three people, including a Pennsylvania State Police trooper, were seriously injured when a Volkswagen Passat crashed into a marked police cruiser on Route 283 in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, police announced on Sunday, Jan. 26. The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. near mile marker 5.9 on Route 283 East, according to a release by Pennsylvania State Police. A trooper was investigating a prior crash involving a disabled vehicle in the left lane and had positioned their Ford Explorer partially in the left lane and shoulder with emergency lights activated. Second Tractor-Trailer Crash On PA Turnpike Interchange To Rt 283: PennDOT Yet another tractor-trailer rolled over on the interchange of Route 283 with the PA Turnpike on Thursday, Aug. 22, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The second tractor-trailer overturned on the ramp from Rt 283 West to the PA Turnpike/Interstate 76 South near the exit to the Harrisburg International Airport in Lower Swatara Township. This crash happened at 1:12 p.m.  The first crash happened almost 12 hours before it but was still being cleaned up as that rollover caused dog food the tractor-trailer was hauling to spill out on the ramp.
