A former firefighter in multiple counties in Pennsylvania and a Vietnam veteran died on Wednesday, Sept. 11, his former station announced. Blaine W. Horn, 75, of Slatedale, passed away at his home, according to his obituary posted on Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc.'s website. He was known in his community as the former Fire Chief of Citizen’s Fire Company #1 for over 40 years and the current Fire Marshal of Slatedale, but his service to his community dates back much further. A 57-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of a crash along Interstate 81 on Saturday, Aug. 10, Pennsylvania State Police Chambersburg announced the following day. Carl L. A 52-year-old Pennsylvania man has been killed in a bull attack on his farm, authorities said on April 30. Richard “Rick” David Joy of Scrubgrass Road, Jackson Center died from his injuries from the bull attack on April 23, according to the Mercer County Coroner's office. 10 Native American Children's Bodies Exhumed In Cumberland County
The bodies of ten Native American children have been exhumed in Cumberland County, according to the US Army. The children attended the Carlisle Indian Industrial School from 1880 to 1910. The students died between 1880 and 1910. The remains are being returned to their closest living family members, as per their request of the US Army. The children began being disinterred on Thursday.
