Actor Charley Scalies, Lifelong Philly Resident, Dies: Appeared On Sopranos, Wire Charley Scalies, a popular actor renowned for his roles in HBO’s acclaimed series The Wire and The Sopranos, has died. He was 84. Scalies died on Thursday, May 1, in a nursing facility located in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease, according to his obituary. Williams, according to a release by the US Department of Justice. All four men were taken into custody on Tuesday– including one defendant who was arrested in Puerto Rico, according to the news release. The memorial service was held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Cathedral located at 221 N Front St, Harrisburg, PA 17101. Harrisburg is the adoptive city of Williams after he became friends with several locals when he was visiting the area around the time he was filming "The Wire," according to Pennlive.
