Brush Fire Shuts Down Route 30 East In York County Route 30 eastbound was closed between Cool Springs Road and Route 462 due to a brush fire on Tuesday, Nov. 19, according to the York County Department of Emergency Services. Emergency crews responded to the scene around 3:32 p.m., prompting a full closure of the roadway in the Wrightsville and Hallam areas. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze as of 3:35 p.m., with no injuries or damage reported at this time.  Drivers were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the road reopened at 4:16 p.m. Check back here for possible updates.

Crash Blocking Part Of Rt 30 In Lancaster: PennDOT A multi-vehicle crash has caused delays on Route 30 in Lancaster County on Tuesday, Oct. 22, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.  The crash happened in the westbound lanes just before the Route 283/Harrisburg/Lancaster exit in Manheim Township around 9:34 a.m. Traffic backed up in the area as emergency vehicles remained on the scene.  There is no word of any injuries at the time of reporting.

Two Tractor-Trailers Collide On Rt 30 Closing Part Of The Highway For Hours Two tractor-trailers crashed on Route 30 on Wednesday, Oct. 19, authorities said.  The crash happened between Exit PA 23 West-Walnut Street and Exit PA 23 East-New Holland Pike in East Lampeter Township around 3:26 p.m., according to emergency dispatchers and PennDOT.  All lanes were closed and traffic was diverted to the Walnut Street exit while crews remained on the scene.  It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the crash.  The roadway reopened shortly before 7 p.m.

The crash happened across both eastbound lanes of Route 30 between Stony Battery Road and Prospect Road Mountville around 2:30 a.m. The roadway remained closed for six hours. Gene Lamar Engle, 59, of Lancaster, was found behind the Target in East Lampeter Township on Wednesday June 9, according to the coroner. The autopsy was performed on June 11. His death is not thought to be suspicious and a toxicology report is pending before an official cause of death is made. The toxicology report is not expected for several weeks.
