A man clad in faux police body armor, loaded up with tactical gear, told people he was a police officer, detained them, and stole from them, authorities say.
Harrisburg police were flagged down by the robbery victims in the area of North 7th and Maclay streets around 4 a.m. on Sunday, May, 8, according to a release by the department.
The victims told police the man claimed to be an officer and was wearing “a police style uniform,” and stole large sums of money from them, as stated in the release.

Police have arrested a suspect who they say stabbed an employee during a robbery at a convenience store in central Pennsylvania early Thursday, May 5, authorities said.
James Allen Brown, 54, was arrested late Thursday on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, and related offenses in the stabbing at the Speedway on the 600 block of East High Street in Carlisle, local police said.
Officers responded to the store around 6 a.m., where they found the worker with multiple stab wounds, police said.

A Maryland man is accused of robbing a girl at gunpoint in Pennsylvania, police say.
The girl had arranged to meet "an acquaintance to exchange personal property" in the 900 block of Lititz Pike on April 14, at 7:20 p.m., Northern Lancaster County Regional police say.
The girl got into their car and "another passenger brandished a handgun and (forcibly) stole the victim's cell phone," police say.
