Volunteer Firefighter, Chief In PA, MD Dies Suddenly, Fund Says A volunteer firefighter serving in Maryland and Pennsylvania for over 40 years has died "unexpectedly", a GoFundMe launched to help launch his family announced on Saturday, Sept. 7.  Chief Tracy L. Tomlinson, 57, of Kirkwood, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Thursday, Sept. 5, according to his obituary posted on Shivery Funeral Home, Inc.'s website. He was born in West Grove and was a graduate of Solanco High School. Firefighters Rescue Child In Car At Parking Lot Outside East Drumore Giant Quarryville firefighters rescued a child locked in a car Thursday, Aug. 15.  The company received the call to the child locked in a vehicle at 4:05 p.m. They were found locked in the SUV pictured in the parking lot outside of the Giant grocery store in East Drumore Township.  No injuries were reported. It is not immediately clear how the child ended up locked in the vehicle.  Check back here for possible updates.

1K+ Gallons Of Milk Spills From Tanker In Rollover Crash: Quarryville FD A tanker truck carrying milk overturned in Quarryville on Monday, July 15, authorities explained.  The crash happened in the 1100 block of May Post Office Road near Springville Road in Eden Township around 4 p.m., dispatchers and the Quarryville Fire Department explained.  The tanker was carrying 1,000 gallons of milk when it overturned, QFD officials said. May Post Office Road is closed between Springville and Stony Hill roads.  There are detours set up, the QFD concluded.

Car Plows Into Lancaster County Building: Officials (Photos) A car slammed into a building in Central Pennsylvania on Friday morning, according to the Quarryville Fire Department which responded to the crash.  The car plowed into one of the businesses in the Commerce Commons development in the 200 block of Commerce Drive in East Drumore Township around 9 a.m. on June 28, officials with the department said. House Bursts Into Flames After 2-Car Crash In Central PA (Photos) A bystander with a fire extinguisher and a Quarryville firefighter with a garden hose battled a house fire, following the two-vehicle crash in Quarryville on Thursday, authorities say.  The force of a two-vehicle crash sent a car into a home in the 900 block of Kirkwood Pike in Colerain Township at 8:20 p.m. on July 13, 2023, fire officials said.  When the fire crews arrived they found one vehicle in the road and the other one went into the "B" side of the house, according to the Quarryville Fire Department.  The car had been "pushed in the basement wall and was on fire," officials said.  …
