Accused PA Incestuous Child Rapist Arrested In VA: Police
An accused child rapist who appears to have been on the run, was captured in Virginia, New Holland police announced on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Jeffrey Alan Smith, 45, of New Holland, was charged by Officer Halstead with the following felonies: Rape of a Child, Statutory Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Indecent Assault of a Minor under 13 (two counts), Corruption of Minors (two counts), Incest of Minors, Unlawful Contact with Minors (two counts) and Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse.

Police ID Speeding Driver, 25, Killed In Head-On Crash With Tour Bus In Lancaster County
Police have identified the 25-year-old sedan driver who died in a crash with a tour bus in Lancaster County early Thursday, Oct. 26.
Louis Marotto, of New Holland, was heading north on Hollander Road at a high rate of speed in a Nissan sedan when she swerved into the southbound lane and struck the tour bus head-on, around 2:50 a.m. in Leacock Township on Thursday, Oct. 26, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The tour bus operator was not injured, PSP said, and Marotto was pronounced dead at 4:05 a.m., of multiple blunt force trauma, the coroner said.

Three women have been hospitalized and a horse has died after a car crash involving a horse drawn wagon and a car on Saturday, May 21, police say.
East Lampeter Township police were called to the crash in the 500 block of Musser School Road in Leola around 9:30 a.m., according to a release by the department.
The driver of a red 2015 Volkswagen Golf, Margaret Robinson, 86, of Ephrata, was traveling westbound when she struck a horse that was pulling a wagon in the eastbound lanes, police say.

Woman, 65, Sexually Assaulted, Strangled To Death In Lancaster County Home, Police Say
A woman found dead at her home in Lancaster County was sexually assaulted prior to being strangled, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's office.
Nora Sanchez, 65, of the 300 block of East Main Street in New Holland was found dead in her home on Sept. 1 around 10 a.m., as Daily Voice reported at the time.
Police were originally called to the scene for a welfare check.
Sanchez died by strangulation with evidence of sexual assault, according to the Lancaster County coroner.
