Curfew For All Under 18 Years Old To Be 'Reinforced' In Harrisburg: Officials
Children cannot be in a public place between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Sunday through Thursday nights, and 12 a.m. midnight, and 6 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays– according to an ordinance police in Harrisburg will soon be enforcing. The so-called 'after-hours' curfew was first put in place in 2007, but on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023 city officials said they would be "reinforcing" it. Three pipe bombs were brought to the Public Safety Building in Harrisburg and the "good samaritan" who found them on Cameron Street has been interviewed and released as of Wednesday, May 9, 2023, Harrisburg Director of Communications Matt Maisel told Daily Voice. Students and staff were rushed to another nearby school after a bomb threat was called into Capital Academy on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, around 7 a.m., authorities say. A body was found in a car in Harrisburg on Monday, August 22, 2022, authorities say. The body was found near South 19th and Derry streets in the area of Rowland and Scott Schools, although the schools were not in session when the body was found. Teen Shot In Central Pennsylvania: Authorities
A teenager was shot in central Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 7, authorities say. The teenage boy was found shot around 2 a.m. around the corner of Pine and Front streets, according to City of Harrisburg Director of Communications Matt Maisel. The boy suffered "non-life threatening injuries," and "as of this morning he is doing ok," Maisel told Daily Voice. The victim is supposedly not cooperating with the police, Maisel says.
