A suspect has been charged and a teenager has been identified after a deadly shooting at a central Pennsylvania gas station, according to an updated release by the police. Carlos Almanzar-Torres, 21, argued with Damian Santiago, 19, before removing a firearm from his jacket and chasing Santiago around the gas station located at 111 West Orange Street, Lancaster City bureau police say in the updated release. 'Suspicious' Fire Damages Lancaster Visitor's Center
A fire that damaged the Lancaster Visitor's Center early Sunday morning is considered suspicious, authorities said. The blaze outside the Lancaster City Visitor's Center at Penn Square and was spreading to the building when first responders arrived around 3 a.m., according to police. An investigation found that the fire began in a portable toilet, located outside the Visitor's Center, and grew large enough to begin damaging the historic Visitor's Center building, causing some structural damage and damage to the windows. A teenager who police say fatally shot a 23-year-old man in Lancaster last month was apprehended Thursday. Thanks to video footage and eyewitness statements, investigators were able to identify 14-year-old Elijahuwon A. Brown as the person responsible for shooting Rolando Rivera to death in the 500 block of Third Street around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 27, according to the Lancaster Bureau of Police. Four teenage boys turned themselves into police following an investigation into the beating of a man outside his Lancaster home. A 42-year-old man was assaulted and left with a fractured wrist outside his home in the first block of South Water Street in Lancaster on July 8 around 7 p.m., as Daily Voice previously reported. A group of six men allegedly snuck up on a 42-year-old Lancaster man and beat him outside his home, according to city police. The attack happened in the 1st block of South Water Street on July 8 around 6:45 p.m. The unidentified man was treated for a fractured arm and other injuries. Three people were shot on Tuesday night in Lancaster by "thin, black males, wearing black hooded sweatshirts and white masks," area police say. A report of shots fired at the 100 block of Green Street came into police just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
