A 56-year-old zoo employee who was known to "roughhouse" with a kangaroo was found dead in their enclosure last week, covered in signs of an attack, reports said. Eric Slate, who worked at 5 Star Farm, a small park outside of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was found dead Friday night, May 9, in the kangaroo and wallaby pen at the petting zoo owned by his brother, WBTW said. A baby kangaroo— known as a Joey— was found in a Pennsylvania bedroom closet after someone was caught listing it for sale on Facebook Marketplace, authorities say. A "concerned citizen" tipped off the State Game Wardens about a Facebook post of a "kangaroo for sale" in Littlestown, the Gaming Commission said in a statement on Thursday, Sept. 15.
