Bronx Boat Explosion: DWI Captain Charged In Fire That Sent 22 Into Long Island Sound, Cops Say A 33-year-old Bronx, NY man has been charged with DWI in a boat explosion that forced 22 people into the water and 23 to the hospital on Saturday, June 7, officials said. Just before 9 p.m., police got a call reporting a boat fire in the Long Island Sound near Hart Island, a DCPI spokesperson said.
