Homes Evacuated As Flash Floods Hit North Eastern PA Homes were being evacuated in Lycoming as the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning at 12:34 p.m. on Friday in effect until 2:30 p.m. for Lycoming County. Evacuation announcements are occurring in the areas of Upper and Lower Cottage Avenue of Old Lycoming and Lycoming Townships, police said. Lightning Strike Causes Massive Fire At Apartment Complex In Susquehanna Twp. (Photos) As a thunderstorm blew through Central Pennsylvania, a fire blew through part of a 3-story apartment complex that was still under construction, fire officials announced on Wednesday.  The call to the blaze at the construction site on Russel Drive in Susquehanna Township came in at 5:25 a.m. on May 8, according to the Dauphin County Deparment of Emergency Management.  A "special weather statement" had been issued in Harrisburg for hail and high winds around the time the structure is believed to have been struck by lightning, according to the National Weather Service.  A s…

Woman, 4 Children Killed In PA House Fire A woman and four children died in a house fire in Pennsylvania late on Thursday, authorities say. Emergency crews were called to a house in the 5100 block of Brook Road in Kunkletown, Polk Township just before 11:30 p.m., according to Emergency Management. As EMS requested medical helicopters the first juvenile victims were pulled from the home, authorities say. Before midnight five people were found and EMS cancelled the helicopter request that they "do not think that (they) have any viable patients," as heard on the emergency services radio scanners.
