Garbage Truck Smashes Pole, Knocks Out Power In Dauphin County (

A garbage truck smashed into a utility pole, knocking out power and traffic lights along Eisenhower Boulevard in Swatara Township on Friday morning, April 4, authorities said. The crash happened between Lindle Road and Highland Street around 8:30 a.m., according to the emergency dispatch. PPL reported a power outage impacting local customers, with service expected to be restored by noon. A traffic signal was also disabled, causing traffic slowdowns in the area, dispatchers said. No injuries have been confirmed. The Swatara Township Police Department is handling the investigation.

3 Hospitalized After Crash Closes Central PA Road
Three people were hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash in Dauphin County early Friday, Dec. 6, according to emergency dispatch. The crash occurred in the 2200 block of Fiddlers Elbow Road near Elle Way in Derry Township around 4 a.m., dispatch reported. The vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree, injuring all three occupants. All three individuals were transported to the hospital by ambulance. Two firefighters and a resident were injured, and a woman was paralyzed following a fire in Steelton on Saturday, officials and a fun launched to help the woman explained. The fire broke out at a duplex converted into apartments in the 100 block of North Second Street around 5 a.m. on May 11, Dauphin County emergency dispatch. Details about the firefighters' injuries were not immediately available when Daily Voice reached out to officials on Monday morning.
