PA Man Killed By Car In South Jersey Loved By Many
A 45-year-old man from Pennsylvania was struck and killed by a car while walking Thursday night in South Jersey, local police said. Michael D. Geisler, of Pittsburgh, was trying to cross Greentree Road near Heritage Valley Drive when a 2015 Volkswagen heading westbound on Greentree struck him around 11:45 p.m., Washington Township police said. Geisler was rushed to Jefferson Hospital and then airlifted to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia where he was pronounced dead, police said. Condolences poured in. Woman, 80, Dies In Lehigh Valley Crash
An 80-year-old woman died at the hospital following a Wednesday afternoon crash in the Lehigh Valley area, authorities said. Brenda Kohler of Northampton was driving on the 500 block of Cherryville Road in Lehigh Township when she was struck by another vehicle just after 4:30 p.m., according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. Kohler was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg and pronounced dead around 5:25 p.m., authorities said. A mother of two is dead after crashing into a home in Lancaster County on Sunday, according to police. West Hempfield Township police were called to the crash in the 3200 of Marietta Avenue just before 5 a.m., police said. Stephanie Jo Herr, 30, of Quarryville, was the only occupant in the vehicle, police told LancasterOnline. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said. A 38-year-old DUI driver was sentenced Friday to 19 ½ to 39 years in state prison for his role in a high-speed crash that killed two people and seriously injured two others on I-95 nearly two years ago, authorities said. Kevin R. Peters was convicted by a Bucks County jury last month of two counts each of third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, homicide by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, and related charges. A three-year-old and a five-month-old were among the six injured in a crash in Lancaster County on Saturday, according to Northern Lancaster County Regional police. A 23-year-old Highspire man was killed in an alleged drag racing crash on Friday night, according to police. Jose Alcantar crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Cameron and Market streets around 9:30 p.m. Alcantar's community is rallying for his family. A family friend, Viviana Melendrez-Martinez, launched a GoFundMe campaign page to help cover funeral expenses. The campaign has raised $4,170 of the $13,000 goal as of Tuesday afternoon. Woman Dies At Scene Of Crash In Lebanon
One person was killed in a crash in East Hanover Township on Tuesday morning, according to Pennsylvania State police in Lebanon. Clara J. Wenger, 64, of Jonestown, died at the scene. The single-vehicle crash happened on Jonestown Road around 5:30 a.m. Jonestown Road was closed between Ono and Schoolhouse roads for approximately three hours, but it has since reopened. A 30-year-old West Orange man died in a crash on the Garden State Parkway earlier this week. Craig Waldron was heading north when his GMC SUV ran off the roadway to the left, went down an embankment and struck several trees in Bloomfield Tuesday morning, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. Bucks County Teen Dies In Post Prom Crash
A Central Bucks High School East student died in a crash that occurred in the hours following the school's senior prom Saturday, authorities said. Nicholas Mannino, 18, of Pipersville, was riding in a car that lost control and overturned then struck several trees on a rural Pike County road around 1:20 a.m., the Bucks Courrier Times reports. Mannino was rushed to Geisinger Medical Center in Scranton, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 4 a.m., the outlet said citing Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland.
