A husband and wife have been charged after they stopped traffic at an intersection to threaten a driver and damage their car on Shippensburg Police announced on Friday, Aug. 30. Convicted Killer Pleads Guilty To Escape Charges After Eluding Authorities For Weeks In PA
A convicted killer who eluded authorities for nearly two weeks last year in Pennsylvania has pleaded guilty to escape charges, authorities said. A nationwide manhunt for Danilo Cavalcante, 35, a native of Brazil, ended on Sept. 13, 2023, with his capture. He was found hiding under foliage within a search perimeter in northern Chester County, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Cavalcante escaped from Chester County Prison in Pocopson Township while awaiting a transfer to state prison to serve a life sentence for killing his ex-girlfriend. Motorist, 56, Killed In 2-Car Crash In Berks County: Coroner
A 56-year-old man from Schuylkill County was killed in a two-car crash in Berks County, authorities said. Brian T. Strubhar of Pine Grove Township died in the crash at about 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6890 Penn Ave. in Heidelberg Township, according to Berks County Chief Deputy Coroner George Holmes. A husband and wife have been arrested on homicide charges after an assault left a woman dead in the couple's Harrisburg apartment on Thursday, August 29, the police announced the following morning.
