A major crash involving a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles shut down I-95 South near the Pennsylvania-New Jersey state line, while a separate hazmat incident involving a fuel leak is blocking I-95 North, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday, March 18.
The crash happened around 11:45 a.m. at mile marker 2.0 in Upper Chichester, Delaware County, state police said. A tractor-trailer overturned, blocking the entire southbound roadway. A felon convicted for drug dealing has been arrested for arson, Upper Chichester police announced on Thursday, Oct. 3.
Andre Lamont Armstrong, 56, of Chester, was arrested on Monday, Sept. 23, according to court documents.
Armstrong was wanted in connection to a "suspicious" vehicle fire in the 1600 block of Huddell Avenue around 2:10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, police detailed in a release.

Retired Darby Borough K9 Police Officer Thomas "Tom" Takacs Sr., 53, of Upper Chichester (formerly of Norwood and Tinicum) passed Friday, July 26, 2024, at home, according to his obituary posted by the Marvil Funeral Home.
Tom "retired in 2009 after 10 years of service," as written in his obituary. Before he was a police officer, Tom was a K-9 officer at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility.
