ATMs Unavailable At All PA Turnpike Service Plazas
Motorists traveling along the Pennsylvania Turnpike will find themselves without access to cash at service plazas, as all ATMs are currently out of service, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The issue stems from an unforeseen problem with the Turnpike's service provider, which is beyond the commission's control, according to the announcement. The outage is expected to affect all service plazas across the system until further notice. The PA Turnpike apologized for the inconvenience and thanked travelers for their understanding.

Explosion Injures One, Damages Vehicles At PA Turnpike Service Plaza
An explosion rocked the Blue Mountain Service Plaza on the Pennsylvania Turnpike early Tuesday, Nov. 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The blast occurred in the rear commercial vehicle parking lot of the westbound plaza at mile marker 202.5 in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, at approximately 4:55 a.m., authorities said. Tractor-Trailer Fire Shutters Part Of PA Turnpike: PennDOT
A tractor-trailer caught on fire along the Pennsylvania Turnpike prompting a detour to be put in place on Tuesday, Oct. 22, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The fire broke out in Upper Allen Township near mile marker 234.7 around 2:09 p.m., according to PennDOT's 511PA. The turnpike is closed at the Gettysburg interchange. A mother is mourning the loss of her daughter and young mother killed in a car crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Monday, Sept. 16, according to a GoFundMe launched by her family. Brianna Quinn, 21, of Palmerton died in the crash, her family says. CASE: Philly Man Found Dead Off Turnpike In Lancaster County
State police investigators hope to shed new light on the 1991 murder of a West Philadelphia man. Derek Michael Mason was last seen leaving his South 39th Street home in October of that year, according to troopers. His remains were discovered off the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Clay Township, Lancaster County in January 1992.
