Hims & Hers Health, Inc. is acquiring Kearny, New Jersey-based Sigmund NJ LLC, marketed as Trybe Labs, the company said in a news release on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The move will allow the telehealth company to support at-home blood draws and comprehensive body testing.

The acquisition helps Hims & Hers enhance its personalized treatments, supplements, and medications.

"This next generation of healthcare is what we're building at Hims & Hers by providing the best information and set of options to each customer that comes to our platform so they can access precisely the care that is best for them," said Dr. Patrick Carroll, Chief Medical Officer of Hims & Hers. "Access to richer data allows us to deepen the insights that providers can use on our platform to guide their clinical decisions for each individual patient. At-home lab testing is one more exciting step towards elevating the personal, comprehensive care customers in this country should expect."

Hims & Hers is also accelerating its expansion into high-impact clinical areas such as low testosterone and menopausal support. Customers will be able to test for hormone levels, cardiac risk, stress markers, cholesterol, liver and thyroid function, and prostate health — all without traditional needles or dried blood spot cards.

Providers on the platform will use lab results to inform treatment plans. De-identified data will contribute to artificial intelligence developments, including MedMatch by Hims & Hers, which aims to advance AI-powered healthcare solutions.

The acquisition is also the latest move by a telehealth company to expand into at-home testing. Teladoc Health is spending $65 million to purchase Catapult Health, integrating Catapult's VirtualCheckup platform into Teladoc's existing system.

Hims & Hers expects to roll out at-home lab testing nationwide throughout 2025.
