Fire Police Officer Struck Dead In Line Of Duty In Central PA Police A volunteer fire police officer was struck dead in the line of duty, Newberry Township police announced at 8:32 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16.  A coroner was called to the intersection of Red Mill and Corn Hill Roads in Newberry Township at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, as we initially reported, but hours later we learned the officer was struck at 2:20 p.m.  "The fire police officer was directing traffic at the intersection following a separate vehicle crash in the area," the police noted adding "Due to the circumstances of this incident, Newberry Township Police requested the Pennsylvania State…
