Illegal Stable Catches Fire Killing Horses, 12 In Critical Condition: Pspca
A devastating fire tore through a property in Southwest Philadelphia, killing two horses and leaving 12 others in need of emergency rescue, Pennsylvania SPCA announced on Thursday, Feb. 20.
Flames erupted from the 5800 block of Lindbergh Boulevard early Monday, prompting the PSPCA’s Animal Law Enforcement team to respond. Upon arrival, officers found the makeshift stables had burned to the ground, displacing multiple animals, including a goat and a pig, the agency said.

Nine Puppies Abandoned In Box At Park Rescued By PA SPCA
Nine four-week-old puppies were found abandoned in a box at Merion Gateway Park in Montgomery County earlier this week, Pennsylvania SPCA officials announced.
The puppies, left out in the cold and unable to fend for themselves, were reportedly caked in feces, suffering from urine scalding, and in desperate need of care, according to a release from the organization.
“These puppies were given a heartbreaking start, but they now have a chance at a better life,” the SPCA wrote in a social media post.

23 Animals Found Neglected, Malnourished In Pennsylvania Home: Troopers (Photos)
Twenty-three animals living in “severe neglect” were removed from a Coaldale home on Monday, May 20, state police said in a release.
Charges are pending against the 69-year-old homeowner, according to troopers.
Investigators said the animals — including 17 dogs, two cats, two birds, and one turtle — were found “in a state of severe neglect, showing signs of malnutrition, untreated medical conditions, and poor living conditions.”
