First Projected Snowfall Totals Released For Midweek Storm Taking Aim On Region
Just as a complex system that brought a mix of rain and sleet, and as much as a foot of snow or more in some spots moves east, the first projected snowfall totals have been released for a second storm on track for the Northeast midweek. It's due to arrive Wednesday, Jan. 25, and could deliver more snow across interior areas, but also perhaps even closer to the I-95 corridor, unlike the first storm this week, according to AccuWeather.com. 'Winter Isn't Canceled': Big Weather Change Ahead For Northeast, Forecasters Say
The unseasonably warm weather that the Northeast has been experiencing isn't here to stay. Or as Jersey Shore meteorologist Steve DiMartino put it: "Winter isn't canceled." The winter warmup isn't unusual, DiMartino said, noting weather typically swings from one extreme to the other. And a colder weather is on the horizon, according to AccuWeather. While temps have stayed mostly in the 50s since the frigid Christmas weekend, they're bound to take a dip back into the 40s for the second week of January, the outlet says. Hopefully you enjoyed the last day of the mild temperatures before…

After The Storm: Bitter Cold For Christmas Eve, Xmas Day Before Big Change In Weather Pattern
Let's hope Santa Claus is wearing an extra pair or two of long johns. That's because Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be the coldest in decades. A powerful, massive storm that brought a mix of heavy rain, damaging winds, sleet, and snow, has now moved off the coast, but the passage of a cold front accompanying the system has led to a dramatic dip in temperatures. The wind-chill factor on Christmas Eve on Saturday morning, Dec. 24 is below zero degrees in most of the region. After a sunny start, clouds will increase during the day, but the high temperature will only be in the mid to up…
