Armed Man Killed By Police In Montgomery County, DA Says A 68-year-old armed man was shot and killed by police in Montgomery County on Sunday morning, Oct. 27, authorities said. Upper Moreland police were called to a home at the Commerce Square Apartments in Willow Grove for a domestic disturbance where an 83-year-old resident let them inside around 11:50 a.m., MontCo District Attorney Kevin Steele said. Inside, the 68-year-old man ignored officers' commands to drop the handgun and began to raise the firearm up, at which point he was shot and killed by officers, Steele said. Thief Poses As Walmart Employee, Steals VR Headset In MontCo: Police Police in Montgomery County are looking for a man who they say posed as a Walmart employee and stole merchandise on Friday, March 4. The man in the Walmart vest persuaded an associate to hand over the keys to the electronics case, from which he stole an Oculus VR headset around 10 a.m. at the store on Grove Blair Mill Road in Willow Grove, Upper Moreland police said. He fled the store with both the headset and the keys, police said. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Officer J. Man Accused Of Stealing $1100 Worth Of Steaks, Seafood From MontCo Giant Police in Montgomery County are seeking the public's help identifying a man accused of stealing $1100 worth of steaks and seafood from the Willow Grove Giant. The "surf n turf swindler" was last seen loading the items into a grey Nissan Murano and leaving the parking lot northbound on York Road around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, Upper Moreland police said. He was wearing a black winter jacket with a fur-lined hood, a grey hooded sweatshirt, grey pants, tan sneakers, and a black Jordan hat, according to police. The robber fled with the personal care and pharmacy items from the Giant in Willow Grove on Friday, Feb. 4, Upper Moreland police said.
