Former Harrisburg Basketball Star Haiishen McIntyre Shot Dead During Pickup Game In NC Haiishen McIntyre died doing what he loved to do most: Playing basketball. The former standout player at Harrisburg High School was shot after a pickup game at a park in North Carolina. The 27-year-old fought for five days through an open heart surgery and a leg amputation. He died on Friday evening. According to Huntersville police, officers responded to a shooting at North Mecklenburg Park on Aug. 29 at 6:15 p.m.  There, they found McIntyre with a single gunshot wound that he suffered after an argument during the pickup game, police said.
