A Montgomery County man fled the scene of a Chester County crash last month after he struck a driver's car and beat him with a baton, authorities said.
When the victim signaled Robert Sammaritano, 58, of Gilbertsville, to pull over on Route 100 south near Temple Road, Sammaritano whipped out a baton, and struck the driver on March 23, North Coventry police said.
The man was able to disarm Sammaritano before an off-duty fireman stopped to control the situation, police said.
