Schuylkill County Man Killed In Berks Crash: Pennsylvania State Police
A Pottsville man has died after a crash in Bethel Township on Tuesday, May 7, state police say. William J. Lecher, 56, was headed north on Route 183 when he lost control near the Appalachian Trail, troopers said in a release. Authorities said his Chevrolet Silverado entered the southbound lane before crossing onto the shoulder, striking a sign, and coming to rest on a grassy embankment. Fiery Wreck On I-78 In Berks Hospitalizes Driver: Police
A Maryland man is hospitalized after ramming into a dump truck on a Berks County highway late on Wednesday, Feb. 1, authorities say. A dump truck was parked on the right shoulder and partially in the eastbound lane of I-78 in Tilden Township to conduct roadwork, state police said in a release. The truck was equipped with a flashing, yellow signal board instructing drivers to move left to avoid work vehicles, they added. Driver Killed In Berks Pickup Rollover Crash
A 26-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed in a rollover crash Independence Day Weekend, authorities said. Norris Carl, of Shoemakersville, lost control of a 2004 Chevrolet pickup while navigating a curve eastbound on Mountain Road, crossing into the opposite lane of travel around 9 p.m., Tilden Township police said. The truck left the roadway and went in a ditch, continuing before rolling onto the driver's side, police said.
