Fugitive Killed Himself When US Marshals Showed Up At His House, Officials Say
A Pennsylvania man wanted by police on aggravated assault charges killed himself when the US Marshals Service showed up at his door, authorities said. The body of 27-year-old Del Harvey was found inside a home on East High Street in Pottstown around 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 11, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark told Daily Voice. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, which authorities said they heard while trying to serve a search warrant on the home. Authorities are offering a $2,500 reward each -- $5,000 total -- for information leading to the arrests of two suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in Pottstown nearly two months ago. Samir Bentley 20, and Ahmed Mohammed, 16, both of Philadelphia, are wanted on first-degree murder charges for the Oct. 23 shooting death of Robert Stiles on East High Street, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Transformer Fire Closes Streets In Pottstown
An early morning electrical transformer fire will have streets in Pottstown closed for most of the day Friday, authorities said. Authorities received initial alerts from emergency dispatchers around 3:35 a.m. citing fire police was needed at the corner of East High Street and North Hanover Street, according to county reports. The streets are closed in at least a one-block radius due to what North Coventry Fire Company cited as "underground transformer explosions causing dangerous conditions."
